HCJB Global is an international Christian missionary organization. With hundreds of members working all over the world they needed an organizational intranet to promote internal communication and to provide a centralized place to distribute resources. It also needed to be very lightweight so that it is accessible to members with dial-up connections.
During my (James') tenure as full-time webmaster for HCJB Global I designed and implemented this intranet from the ground up. The site provides many services such as forums, staff directory, photo gallery, resource toolbox, and blogs, to name a few. It also features a customizable home page which I designed and built to allow each member to configure their home page with the news, links, and information that THEY wanted to see. The site was launched in June of 2007 to extremely positive reviews.
